Lee Elliot is known for his unique handmade jewelry designs. Lee started serious jewelry making and design in the early 1960s in Greenwich Village. Many of his early unique jewelry designs are still ahead of their time today. There is much asymmetry in his original sculptural pieces of jewelry. Some stones seem to float and balance the piece.
Working with precious metals and gemstones, Lee creates beautiful handmade 14 and 18 kt gold, platinum and sterling silver rings and bands for both women and men. Lee’s diamond and gemstone pendants also share the asymetrical design with his handmade ring designs.
His hammered disc and wire jewelry designs are unique. He creates necklaces, pendants and bracelets using this technique.
Lee designs and creates his original jewelry in his Sag Harbor store. Each piece is hand made and many are one-of-a-kind. He has a true love for his work.
Dori Elliot attended her first ACC (American Craft Council) show at Eight Days old. The world of art and handmade craft was destined to be her career. Dori starting working around the Southampton location Lee Gallery at age 14 and knew then that she wanted to be a jeweler like her parents. When Lee Jewelers opened in Sag Harbor in 2005, at age 17 Dori began to watch her mom Terry Elliot create intricate wire wrapping of precious metal and gemstones, and soon started her own line of Beaded and Wire Wrapped Gemstone Jewelry.
Dori takes each piece of jewelry she creates very personally; She continues to practice and perfect her delicate, intricate wire wrapping work. Dori and her father Lee Elliot often design pieces together, sometimes collaborating Lee's hammered metal circles with Dori's wire wrapped gemstones. Dori takes great pride in her Jewelry line, and at age 26 is eager to spread her name and her work as far as possible.
